I Need Discipline Showing You How To Make Money Online By Blogging
Some eagle-eyed webmasters might have noticed that Google rolled out their first Page Rank of the year some time earlier today. Google normally does its first Page Rank Update around this time of year so it was a very much expected update.
Sadly I have not noticed any change in the Page Rank of this blog but I have noticed some changes with my other blogs, mostly jumping from PR1 to PR2, and I have seen one site leap from a PR0 to a PR4.
What is a Page Rank?
For those of you unaware, a Page Rank is a score from 0-10 that is given to every site on the internet, the overall score is derived from a number of factors (one of which is backlink building) it is meant to indicate quality and a high Page Rank is very appealing to advertisers.

Did you notice a change in your Page Rank during this update? Did it go up or down or stay the same? Let us know by commenting below.
I hadn’t noticed, mostly because mine didn’t change. I’ve read a few places that the numbers lag by up to 6 months, as Google does their best to make the metric worthless and new sites are slow to be updated. Nice blog, btw.
I normally find that waiting about a week after the update is announced is more than enough time for all my sites to be updated.

Yes, PR of my home page changed from 2 to 3. It purely depends on the number of quality backlinks pointing to your site. I have seen updates on many of my blogs & drop in few.

I think backlinks on quality sites is VERY important, even though people would say it has changed since the Google updates.

That is fantastic news, Anup. One of my blogs went from PR0 to PR4 but then leveled out at PR2 so you might want to keep an eye on it.
I have stayed the same on some sites, dropped on others, and gone up on others as well. It has been quite the roller coaster.

What improvements did you see?
Hi Dean, its sad but true that none of my blogs saw any good changes expect one which got a PR 2 from last year’s PR 1. Though I won’t blame Google for this as I am well aware of the fault. And I would like to admit I was unable to divert much time and efforts to blogging last year because of which I have received this.
Seeing just one of your blogs increase PR is still better than nothing, or actually seeing some drop, I hope you find time to start building backlinks soon.

Just keep building quality backlinks on blogs that have a higher PR than you. If you keep doing it then you will see an improvement.

As long as you continue building quality backlinks you’ll eventually get an increase.
I do not see Page Rank as something to pursue, it will automatically if you have a good website or blog with the right set links and good SEO.
If you are looking to make money by sponsored posts or private advertising then you will find that PR is incredibly important.
My didn’t change, It is still showing PR2. I have to concentrate on Guest posting, Internal linking and quality content. Please give me some more tips to improve it. Good post, thanks for sharing.

As long as you keep up a good backlink building campaign there is no reason why you won’t see an increase at the next update.
I’m happy with this PR update from Google. I do many forum posting and blog commenting from last month. And these task works snd Google gave me PR1.

PR1 is a good start, hope you continue to see an improvement at the next update.
I am fortunate that I stayed the same and wasn’t affected by the update. I am still working hard to make sure everything is up to par and not doing things that will in the end get me dinged by google.
