Writing is very much in my blood, I absolutely love being able to put pen to paper (well it’s fingers to keyboard these days) and watch as my words come tumbling out onto the page (screen) so you can imagine how lucky I feel to be able to make a living doing something that I love.

At school I was a lean mean essay writer machine.

If you dislike writing then high school, college and university is to going to bee something you are going to look forward to as there is mountains and mountains of writing to bee done in order to graduate and pass exams.

Back when I was a kid the only way to get out of doing your written work and not getting into trouble was to get someone to do it for you, this was normally a nerdy guy who would be bullied into ghost-writing your work for you.

If I had something like this when I was at college then I might have spent more time out partying and chasing the ladies rather than sitting at my desk wearing out notepads.

I like to think that after four years (yes it really has been that long, I started this blog in November 2007) of trying to make an income (trying? I actually do make money!) online that I have become rather good at it. OK, I am not earning enough to live the life of luxury like others but I do get by.

But there is one thing that I haven’t been able to succeed at and that is when it comes to creating images and graphics for the blog and the posts that are contain within the blog. I have spent hours every day trying but I just plain suck at it.

I even resorted to scouring the internet to see if I could find any websites that would have a program built in so I could create logo online but all my searching came to nothing. I even had to stop using blog designs that required an image as a logo because I didn’t want to spend money hiring a logo creator when there was a chance that I could do the job myself.

But it started to effect my traffic and then my income so I luckily found a couple of cheap guys over at Fiverr who will do the jobs for me for only $5, obviously it isn’t high quality graphic work but it is much better than what I can achieve so it will do for now.

Although I didn’t find that elusive online tool all that searching was not done for nothing, I managed to find a couple of very good websites where I can create a business card online for a fair price.

I moved into a new flat at the beginning of March and I discovered that the lady who lived there before me had racked up a huge amount of debts. You name the company and she had run up a bill with them and disappeared without a trace.

Phone bills, electricity bills, gas bills, credit card bills, loan bills, catalogue bill, rent bills, parking fine bills; she had even run up a bill with the local corner shop.

In total she disappeared in the middle of the night owing a staggering £15,000 (that’s just shy of $30,000).

Naturally this has caused me a lot of problems. I had never had a credit card before and when I was due to move to the new flat I had decided that I was going to apply for one. Obviously my applications are being shut down at the first hurdle because of the amount of money she owed while living at the flat.

I was about to give up hope until recently when a very close friend of mine suggested that I might try and apply for credit cards for bad credit credit users. These are credit cards that are designed for people with a history of bad credit.

Now strictly speaking I don’t have a bad credit history but the flat I’m living in does, so I guess if I want to have any chance of obtaining a credit card then this is the route I will have to go down.

The only real difference between these types of credit cards and the ones you see advertised on the TV are that these credit cards come with a higher rate of interest, to help protect the company I imagine.

It’s still better than nothing though.

Anybody who has a car will vouch what a horrible experience it can be when you have to deal with renewing your car insurance. It is just so time consuming as you shift through company after company. To put it bluntly, it is a royal pain in the ass.

Thankfully the process is made a lot easier thanks to a web site that offers a car insurance comparison service. You have probably heard of these kinds of services before with other products, they compile a list of companies and judging on what details you enter into their system they try to pair you up with the best possible match.

And it doesn’t take that long to complete. I was only asked to enter some personal details about me, two pages of details about my car and I was given a list of insurance companies that best suited my specific needs.

There are many things that are important to arrange during your life time, one that may not be at the top of your list (or it may not be on your list at all) is to purchase yourself some life insurance.

One of my big jobs on this blog (apart from publishing content) is to go through the comments and try and weed out the spammers (not always an easy task as it is becoming more and more difficult to find them all these days) and the one thing that I have noticed is a lot of people come to this blog looking for loan advice.

It is not just the comments that are left that leads me to this conclusion, when I am looking through the traffic stats to compile the monthly blog income report I can see a nice chunk of people are coming to this blog by typing in loan search terms into Google.

In the three and a half years I have been making money on the internet I have come across many interesting methods that have both succeeded and failed. One area that I have never had any luck in, however, is online gambling.
