My name is Dean Saliba and I started the I Need Discipline blog back in November 2007 in order to try my hand at becoming a full time blogger and seeing if it was at all possible to make an income from blogging.

I actually got into this lark after reading the blog of John Chow for a couple of months. I’m not sure how I stumbled across it but I remember reading his monthly income posts and wondering just how he did it and if it was all merely smoke & mirror. Could you really make money by blogging?

I’ve since discovered that John Chow doesn’t make most of his money blogging, he sells products and runs a very popular message board.

I started a personal blog back in 2001 and around September 2007 I started writing about making money online. It became popular posts but the people who came to ead them didn’t want to read my personal posts so I set up I Need Discipline.

At first it became a hobby that paid but within a couple of years it had turned into a part time job. Now as of 2010 I have jacked in my offline job and am devoting as much time as I can to blogging full time.
