July 2010 Blog Income Report

by Dean Saliba on August 1, 2010 · Monthly Blog Income

The month of July has been something of a landmark for me. Not just about the amount that I earnt, or the amount of traffic I managed to attract, it was the first month that I decided to devote all my time and energy to this blog, making it a full time job.

What a very scary prospect that is. No offline job to fall back on, no other means of support, just me and this blog. And you know what? I am looking forward to this difficult challenge and am ready to take it on!

Page Impressions & Visitor Count

The unique visitor count for July stands at 711, which is a great increase of 312 from the month of June.

The page impression count for July stands at 1.578, which is a massive increase of 905 from the month of June.

This means that each unique visitor looked at 2.22 pages.

I am really pleased with the traffic for this month and as I find my feet I feel this will sky rocket very soon. I would say that the reason my traffic has spiked is the increased participation in blog commenting and reposting old posts on Twitter.

Money Money Money!

Adbrite = $0.93 (+$0.46)
AdsDaq = $0.53 (+$0.33)
Adsense = $2.87 (-$1.67)
Adtoll = $0.00 (+/-$0.00)
Infolinks = $2.19 (+$1.73)
Kontera = $0.05 (+$0.04)
Reviews = $256.34 (+$168.34)
Smowtion = $0.40 (+$0.28)
TLA = $10.00 (-$5.31)
Twitter = $20.45 (New)
Tradedoubler = $0.00 (+/-$0.00)
UnderDog = $0.18 (+$0.08)

Total = $293.94 (+$187.94)

- Kontera is slowly being fazed out from all my blogs and is being replaced with Infolink (hence the increased amount I earnt this month).

- I have started heavily using Twitter to make money and considering it is my first month I am pleased with the start I have made.

Interesting, so you are earning a lot through reviews huh? Are these product related reviews?

Anyway I am trying to monetize my blog too will see how it works out. Once I start making some money I will also create an income report :P

To be honest a lot of the reviews are not product related. I’m like one of those low-class hookers, you pay me enough and I’ll write about ANYTHING. :D

Congrats. Nice income. I am newbie to blogging and I seriously don’t know how much we can earn online by blogging. But after reading lots of articles i came to know that the income from blogging can outmatch our day job.

In your income report, you mentioned reviews? Which site are using for getting advertisers?

Thank you, I hope your blog is even more successful. :)

The only limitation to making money by blogging is how many hours you devote to it. I’ve found the more time I put in, the more I get.

You can find a list of the review networks I use from the list below:

Wow, the reviews are fantastic – makes me want to check into them again, didn’t realize there’s so much potential there.

Congrats on such a great month, take it and run with it. Figure out exactly what your success was and go from there!

I would also suggest that it would be interesting if you were to contact the websites/businesses that you wrote the reviews. They went through a 3rd party review site I’d assume – I’m sure you could see if they need additional reviews for other products and services :)

Traffic-wise I found that blog commenting and promoting my old posts on Twitter were the main reasons for the spike.

I’ve seen the increase in my review earnings because I have been spending more time applying for more opps and one of my blogs recently became a PR2 and a lot more advertisers wanted their reviews on that blog.

I had never thought of contacting past advertisers directly before. That is a great idea and certainly something I will take up at some point this month. :)
