4 Plugins I Use To Drive Traffic From Facebook

by Dean Saliba on July 19, 2010 · Wordpress

I have been using Twitter to promote my content for quite a few months now (with some very nice results) but the one social networking site that I really wanted to crack was Facebook. I’d heard other people talk about gaining traffic from there and wanted in on the deal.

With that in mind I started to wonder if anybody had developed any WordPress plugins that I could use to help me publish content on Facebook. Not only did I find some but I actually found some bloody good ones that have already started helping me.

I thought that other people might be interested in driving traffic from Facebook, so I have listed the plugins that I use that are related to Facebook.

1-click Retweet/Share/Like – This plugin places small buttons on your post so readers can retweet it on Twitter or publish it on their Facebook accounts.

Facebook Profile Theme – This neat little plugin helps create a tab on your Facebook profile where you can host blog posts.

FT FacePress II – This is my favourite plugin. It publishes the title, link and excerpt of your post onto your wall just like a Facebook update status.

Wordbooker – This pretty much does the same thing as FT FacePress II but it has the options of bringing over comments and polls and a lot more features.

There are of course many many more that I have yet to try but if you want to increase your readership and traffic then I’d suggest starting with these today.

Do you use ones that I have no listed? Why not leave a comment and let us know what they are and what they do?

Dean:

Thanks for the list of plugins and the links to them.

I currently use one Facebook plugin that published my blog posts to Facebook but I think I like the FT FacePress II better.

Thanks for the comment Rick. I thought it might be worth pointing out to everyone that with WordBooker I can also publish my posts to any fan pages I am part of.

I’ll be checking out the last two for sure ;-)

I hope you do not do what I did.

I had them both installed at the same time and forgot to edit their settings. They ended up both publishing post links to my FB account twice and annoying a fair amount of people on my friend list. ;)

Thanks man. Not to worry, I only installed FacePress II. Let’s see how things go when 2moro’s blog post goes live. ;-)

I’m not sure if anyone else found this but I had to delete FacePress II because it stopped publishing the posts to my fan page. :-?

Sorting #Internship applications for an online marketing role. Using facebook does not make you an online marketing expert!

A bit like how when football clubs are looking for a new manager they have to go through hundreds of applications form people who have done really well on the Football Manager PC game? :P

I’m afraid I don’t. I only had the plugin installed for a couple of days before removing it as it was causing mayhem with my pages.
