When someone asked you if you were on Facebook you had two choices, you could either give them the URL which would be something like http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1234567890 or you could tell them to search for your name.
Thankfully Facebook have come up with an easier way with their vanity URL feature.
The way it works is you gt to pick a name so the URL would be http://www.facebook.com/yourname. This will be much easier to remember and give out to friends. family and even strangers.
There are two drawbacks though.
1. You have to get in quick to grab your name as not only is it first come first serve but cyber squatters are creating new Facebook accounts just to own popular names.
2. You must have signed up for a Facebook account before June 2009. If you signed up during June then you will have to sit on your hands and wait your turn.
The link to get your vanity URL is http://www.facebook.com/username/. Choose wisely though as there is no going back, you only get one chance.

Wow, i dint know this.. just getting my username done!
If you have a popular name then I suggest getting it done as soon as possible before a cyber squatter beats you to it.
Thanks for dropping by.
damn i missed out on my name
If you ‘user.name’ is gone have you tried ‘username’?
Sadly you need to be quick as popular names are snapped up by cyber squatters.
