I have had a few emails recently asking me why the blog is called I Need Discipline. This is something that I have been meaning to address for a while now so I shall do it now whilst I am thinking about it.

It is pretty simple really.

I was sitting in a pub with a friend of mine and we were talking about boxing (I’m a fan of this sport and made a lot of money when people thought Hatton was going to beat Mayweather) and we were talking about how boxers require a lot of disciplline.

As the chat changed topic I began to think about my blog (it is very common to think about you blog while you are meant to be enjoying yourself with friends) and I started to think how true it is that if you wish to earn money online you need to be disciplined.

So many people pick and choose when they feel like earning money online and this is why they, more often than not, fail. You need to have some self discipline to keep a strict routine going.

I will use my brother as an example here.

He wanted me to teach him how to make money online with his blog, he then went and set up half a dozen blogs when I told him to stick with one and now he has lost interest in them because he is not disciplined enough. He allows himself to be distracted.

That is why my blog is called I Need Discipline.

I have been using Adbrite for about a year now and apart from the ads that I had on Football Reloaded I have struggled to make any real money with them. I admit I have not been trying that hard because I was more concerned about making Google Adsense work.

But now I have decided to see just if it is at all possible to make money with Adbrite.

A lot of people may not know about Adbrite. They run ads on your web site just like Google Adsense but the main differences are that they do not scan your site and show relevent adverts based on the content of your site.

The second diference is that they also allow you to sell advertising space using them as a middleman. Somethign that I have managed to do once again with the Football Reloaded forum.

I intend to add Adbrite ads to this blog and my other blogs (you can find them on the side menu).

Write

The write screen has also been given a working over and now only shows the most common things that you use a lot, anything else you don#’t use that often is hidden away until you decide that you wish to use it.

Manage

The manage page has been designed so that it looks exactly the same as the other management pages (comments, pages, etc) and it has been tinkered with to speed it up. Again a few of the unimportant things have been removed or hidden until needed at a later date.

Other

There are other things that have been changed as well such as a new and funky colour scheme, but if you hate it and want the old one back then you can just switch it back to “Classic” in the Options section of the admin panel.

This is also pluggable so you can actually add and share your colour schemes with other users.

Release Candidate 1 is now available but please beware that this is a very early BETA release and there will be bugs so only install this if you make regular back-ups of your database and wish to help out the deveopment team.
