Spread Your Blog With Ping Sites

When you write a new post there is an option on your admin panel (Admin -> Options -> Writing -> Update Services) where you can enter ping sites who will be notified when you make a post and will list your post on blog directories on the internet.
I came across a list of ping sites, I have not checked them all but even if half of them work then that means more publicity for your blog.

AGLOCO Finally Got To Emailing Me

I just received an email this morning from AGLOCO stating exactly the same message as the one I posted from John Chow two whole days ago.
I am quite insulted it took them this long to get down to me.

AGLOCO - Dead In The Water

It became quite blatent that something was very wrong when AGLOCO did not renew their SSL certificate which is actually not a very expensive thing to do and is an absolute necessity for a company offering money on the internet.
John Chow also thought something was a bit fishy because he took the time and effort to contact the owner of the company who is running AGLOCO and below is their official reply:
Dear John,
We would like to update you on the status of AGLOCO’s operations. We continue to believe in the AGLOCO concept, but our revenue is currently not sufficient to give Members a meaningful distribution. And though there are increases in membership, the resulting revenue is not enough to support operating costs. As a development team we are unable to continue to use our savings to fund the operations. If any Member would like to pursue continuing the operations of AGLOCO, you may contact us at agloco1@live.com.
We would like to thank every Member for supporting our effort to bring a piece of the Internet directly to the user. We hope that we can find a way to keep the operations going.

My first thought was how upset some of the people like John Chow will be when they realise that the thousands of referals that they have painstakingly built up count for absolutely nothing at the end of the day. John Chow had 29,668 members in his referal network.
Where Did It Go Wrong?
The problem is that the people behind AGLOCO do not seem to want to learn from their mistakes, this is not their first dance, they were the same guys behind the ill-fated AllAdvantage venture in the early 2000s.
Companies are simply not going to want to pay high enough fees to have their ads shown on a viewbar where they know that 99.9% of people will not bother looking at the adverts nevermind clicking them.
There is egg on the face of myself also as I actually plugged them in a post on this very blog, but thankfully not many people took me up on the offer as they obviously knew that it would not last. I obviously have some intelligent people visiting this blog.
